CM Yogi has lunch with sanitation workers.
The 45-day-long Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj concluded with Maha Shivaratri, where UP CM Yogi Adityanath participated in special prayers and the Ganga Aarti. Afterward, he shared a meal with sanitation workers. CM Yogi also announced bonuses and a minimum wage of ₹16,000 for sanitation workers. The Kumbh set new records with millions of devotees arriving to take part in the sacred bath, surpassing previous Mela statistics.

Prayagraj: The 45-day-long Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj concluded with Maha Shivaratri. In this context, today, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed special prayers at the Aril Ghat near the Triveni Sangam. He traveled by boat and participated in the Ganga Aarti. The UP Cabinet also attended the event, with Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, KP Maurya, and other ministers present. Afterward, CM Yogi shared a meal with sanitation workers. Ministers and police officials also participated in the lunch.
CM Yogi announced that sanitation and health workers who participated in the Maha Kumbh will receive a bonus of ₹10,000. He also mentioned that from April, steps will be taken to ensure sanitation workers will receive a minimum wage of ₹16,000. Additionally, temporary health workers will receive direct cash transfers to their bank accounts. The Chief Minister also stated that they will be provided with Ayushman Bharat health insurance. Approximately 66 million people performed the sacred ritual of bathing during the Maha Kumbh.
The number of people coming to Prayagraj for the holy bath during the Maha Kumbh set new records. Those returning from the Kumbh Mela took the holy water with them to their regions, enabling millions of others to also perform the Kumbh Snan. This is an unprecedented event in recent decades. The number of devotees arriving at Prayagraj was much higher than anticipated. Authorities, based on previous Kumbh Mela experiences, developed new plans. The number of participants was nearly double that of the population of the United States, with millions performing the sacred bath during the Maha Kumbh.
