New Delhi: The Puducherry police have decided to question Tollywood actresses Tamannaah and Kajal Aggarwal in connection with a cryptocurrency scam that took place in Puducherry. A retired government employee named Ashokan from Puducherry filed a complaint with the police, claiming that a total of Rs. 3.4 crore was swindled from 11 people by promising high returns under the guise of cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrency company was launched in 2022 at the Coimbatore headquarters, with actress Tamannaah and other celebrities attending the event.
Later, actress Kajal Aggarwal attended the event held at a star hotel in Mahabalipuram. Afterward, a cruise party was organized in Mumbai, inviting celebrities to the event. The large-scale party was organized to attract people to invest. Subsequently, they collected Rs. 3.4 crore from the public in Puducherry by promising high returns. In this case, two people, Nitish Jain (36) and Aravind Kumar (40), have been taken into custody.
The accused, who swindled large sums from the victims, attracted investors by promising high returns on their investments. However, the victims were unable to withdraw their money, and eventually, it was revealed that the whole scheme was a scam. As part of the investigation into this case, the police have decided to question actresses Tamannaah and Kajal Aggarwal. Puducherry Cyber Crime SP Dr. Baskaran stated that within just three months of the company’s launch, the accused had collected more than Rs. 1.1 crore from over 100 people.
